Welcome
Chris & Wendy Long (and "Duchess" the cat) would like to welcome you to The Chapel Guest House - currently rated 4 Stars with Silver Accolade by Visit Britain. The accommodation is housed in a converted former Bible Christian Chapel, dating from 1862. Set in a wooded valley, just north of St Austell, we are 3 miles from the Eden Project, 11 miles from the Lost Gardens of Heligan and yet only 10 minutes from the A30, giving easy access to all the other Cornish places of interest. The Chapel makes a great centre for touring.
We provide spacious, comfortable rooms (double, twin, family and single) in a relaxed atmosphere. These include one Twin room, which is designed for wheelchair access (see rooms page for details). Most rooms have en suite facilities, and all have colour TV with Freeview, an alarm clock and tea/coffee making facilities. Wi-fi internet access is also available in all rooms.
For breakfast, you can take your pick from our range of hot and cold choices. Naturally our tasty Full Cornish breakfast is a favourite with many guests, but there are many other options, including Special Scrambled eggs (made with smoked salmon and double cream!), organic porridge, eggs (poached, scrambled or boiled) and, varying from summer to winter, kippers and various omelettes. Of course, we cater for other diets. A full vegetarian breakfast is always available and vegan and other diets can be catered for (including gluten free, non-dairy, etc.). Please note that advance notice is always helpful in these cases.
A cold selection of cereals, fruit salad (in summer) yoghurts and fresh fruit are also available as well as a selection of fruit juices. The hot drinks include coffee, tea, specialist and fruit teas and hot chocolate.

How to find us
By car:
- Take the A30 until you come to the turn off for St Austell via the A391. (There is a slip road leading to a pair of roundabouts above the dual carriageway.)
- Take the first exit (the A391) following the signs for St Austell and the Eden Project. Follow this road through Lockengates and into Bugle.
- Go straight on at the traffic lights in the village and then on through Stenalees until you come to a roundabout.
- Take the second exit from the roundabout onto the B3274, signposted Carthew and China Clay Country Park. The Chapel Guest House is approximately ¾ mile along this road on the right hand side.
If you are entering Cornwall across the Tamar Bridge on the A38, follow this road almost into Bodmin, where it meets the A30. Join the A30 heading west and follow the directions above.
